In
the summer of 1996, the Lord brought the four of us together in a
very special way. Even though we had known each other for years,
through school, church, and socially, this was the first time we
would join in a common purpose. None of us had any idea of what the
future of this relationship might look like.
Through
the years, the Holy Spirit has empowered us in spreading the GOOD
NEWS of Jesus Christ through a ministry of Southern Gospel
Music.
As
we seek the Lord's guidance, each of us prays for continued growth
in our personal relationship with our Heavenly Father. From the very
beginning, we received support from our families, friends, and our
home churches. Our first public appearance was in a worship service
at St. John Lutheran Church, Lithopolis, on August 11, 1996.
In
2007 we begin our 12th year on ministry, presenting God's saving
grace, through song, in a variety of settings - including worship
services, revivals, and community events - on over 650 occasions
to date.
The
fact that we "find the time" for rehearsals and special
events - while holding down "full time" jobs - affirms to
us the almighty power of God in this so that His will is done.
In
1997, the group became officially incorporated with the State of
Ohio as a nonprofit organization. Subsequently, the
IRS designated the group as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable
organization. None of the members benefit, financially, from
any donations to the group or from the proceeds of any material
sales - these funds go toward operating costs and to charitable
causes.
Through
His ministry, God has enabled us to reach out in Christian love to
others in need. Since 1997, by God's grace, CORNERSTONE has
sponsored an annual community benefit concert. These gatherings have
collected offerings totaling over $68,000.00, which
have been donated to help various organizations.
